Prof Williams has expertise in the investigation and management of adults and children with immune disorders, in particular those with a genetic predisposition and a focus for new precision therapies. As a Clinical Immunologist new works across pathology services and clinical service provision to adult and paediatric patients.  He has previously led the Wessex Genomic Medicine Centre (WGMC) to deliver the 100K genome project and is currently Clinical Director of Central and South Genomic Medicine Service Alliance (GMSA).  His research interests are in cancer biomarkers for novel immune therapies, working within the Southampton Experimental Cancer Medicine Service (ECMC) and developments to improve the diagnostics in severe presentation of infectious disease.
