Dipak leads global innovation teams to implement new technology and health data to benefit the care of patients, supported by in-depth public engagement. He is Chief Investigator of clinical trials in the UK and internationally, including the DaRe2THINK programme (embedding clinical trials in primary care across NHS England), STEEER-AF (using education to improve patient care across six countries) and HYPERMARKER (personalised treatment of high blood pressure using AI). 

Dipak leads on major regional and global approaches in health data science, including director of the cardAIc group, theme lead for the NIHR Birmingham Biomedical Research Centre and the NHS West Midlands Secure Data Environment, and Europe-wide programmes addressing health inequality such as Cities@Heart.  He chaired the European Society of Cardiology 2024 guidelines on the management of patients with atrial fibrillation.
